Story of my life;;
Family: Unknown dirt-poor dysfunctional family from Oklahoma
History: As stated above, Lindsey McDonald was born from a dirt-poor dysfunctional family in Oklahoma. As a child, Lindsey strived to become better and earn himself a life better than the one he already had, which is why he excelled in school and performed to the best of his ability in his schoolwork. Such ability earned him the attention of Wolfram and Hart, and it was here that he learned of the otherworldly forces, such as demons and the evil that his company does. Originally, he worked as a mail guy and befriended another guy in the mail room as he worked there, but was soon promoted, and eventually became one of the firm’s top lawyers.
Not long after rising in the ranks, he would meet his arch-nemisis, Angel and was soon appointed to the Special Projects division of the firm. Time and time again, he clashed with Angel, even loosing a hand when he resurrected Darla, Angel’s sire and old love interest. An unexpected turn was when he began to fall for Darla, but when she was resired, he discovered how cruel vampires can be, even when he cared for her when Angel sat her on fire. She left him, and he never saw her again.
Not long after, Lindsey acquired a new hand, but with disturbing consequences. Teaming up with Angel, he destroyed the complex where he got the hand from, having to destroy his old friend from the mailroom in the process, and left Los Angeles for a year, or two before returning again when Angel was head of the Los Angeles Wolfram and Hart. Slowly, he orchestrated certain events to allow him access to a creature designed to kill Angel, such as resurrecting Spike and re-corporelizing him again and posing as a dead friend of Angel’s, Doyle, by making Spike abandon Angel and work to “help the helpless”. All in a ruse to kill Cordelia and become the head of Wolfram and Hart, a position that was meant for him and not Angel. After a long battle with Angel, who discovered his plan and arrived just in time to stop him, he overpowered the vampire, but lost when Angel gained the upper hand. He was sent to a hell dimension by the Senior Partners, which was a picture perfect life, but at the end of each day, he had his heart ripped out by a demon in a basement below.
Saved by Angel for questioning, he was held in a jail-cell until agreeing to help Angel take down the Circle of the Black Thorn, in which he and Lorne stopped the Sahrvin Demon clan. However, when the work was done, he was killed by Lorne, who claimed he would “never be apart of the solution”.
At least not in that lifetime…
For the Powers that Be had chosen Lindsey over beings such as Tara, or Anya. Anya refused, due to her friendship with Buffy making it complicated to not agree with Buffy's actions and for Tara's sudden dissapearance in the afterlife. Lindsey was the perfect choice because he could challenge Buffy's authority and had more than enough strength to fight with her both verbally and physically.
Not long ago, Lindsey woke up in an alley in Misery Valley, confused and disoriented. He has learned of Angel’s victory against the Senior Partners, but little on how he has returned, and with his runic tattoos back as well. However, Lorne’s words stuck with him and now haunt him as he tries to start his life anew. Spiteful towards Angel for his betrayal, he plans to kill the vampire, should he ever see him again.
However, the event also left him with a new outlook on life and is now trying to fight the good fight, to prove that he can be part of the solution. As he wandered the streets, it was then he heard the voices and finally recieved his first vision from the Powers that Be of all that had happened to him and his reason for being there. Now, he is there to act not only as a liason for Buffy for the Powers, to make sure that her actions are not to the Powers dislike and to act as a sort of guardian angel for her.
Sample Role Play;;
Misery Valley. Wolfram and Hart once held countless files on the area in question. It was once an active Hellmouth, swarming with demons and strange things happening all around. Then, it became inactive and the Sunnydale Hellmouth opened for business. Lindsey was one of the few people interested in the files on Hellmouths and decided to have a look. This was years ago though. Who would have thought he would have awoken in Misery Valley and not into some strange Hell dimension? He sure as hell, no pun intended, did not expect this. What was even weirder was the fact that his runic tattoos were back, and so were his powers.
Where am I? He thought to himself as he walked out of the alleyway, extremely disoriented and naked. Looking around, he noticed a pair of damp clothes on a clothesline and decided to pull them off the rings. It wasn’t like anyone would be using them anytime soon. Walking from the area, he warily thought of the following: Finding out where he was at. Finding out how he got there. How he was still alive. And most importantly, getting some new clothing. There HAS to be an ATM somewhere… he thought again. Continuing to walk, lo and behold he found one at the “Misery Valley Bank” MISERY VALLEY!?!? he thought. If I am here…and I got here, via Hellmouth activity…then that means…
“Oh shit…” Suddenly, he turned and felt the cold, wet fist of a vampire hit his face and knock him back. Falling, the creature smiled. The vampire had combed back black hair, a goatee, and a pair of black jeans with a black undershirt and black, button up shirt with gray lines going vertically down in a thin row. Smiling with its pointy teeth, the vampire leaned in and was ready to snack on Lindsey before Lindsey hit him, sending him flying back. Growling, the vampire rose again and glared at him.
“You pack a wallop kid… he said with a devilish grin, “Where would the fun be in killing you, when I could sire you…you seem to have the strength of a…slayer! Lindsey looked at the vampire, wiping blood from his lip that was left from the vampire punching him and replied, “Yea, well sorry to disappoint you, but I’m no slayer. However, I am going to slay you anyways. The vampire charged again, attempting to punch Lindsey, but was blocked and hit again by Lindsey, who knocked the vampire into a puddle. As the demon got back up, he swung again, hitting Lindsey, but not knocking him down.
Pushing the vampire back, Lindsey picked up a small metal shard that he had seen earlier from the ground, which made the vampire laugh. “Were you born yesterday you idiot? Unless you’re planning to slowly cut my head off, that shard isn’t wood, so I guess you’re just out of luck pretty boy!” Smiling, Lindsey concentrated on the shard and within a moment, it changed into a long, steel sword.
“Actually, I was reborn a few minutes ago, and cutting your head off just doesn’t seem like fun to me. I’d rather get your ugly ass out of my presence as soon as possible. With one lunge and a perfect swoop in the air, the vampire’s head was dust before it could hit the floor. Turning, Lindsey smiled and walked towards the ATM. Holding the sword in hand, he concentrated and the sword was suddenly made into an ATM card. Pushing the card into the slot, he punched in a few numbers and presto, his Wolfram and Hart account was activated and fortunately, it was still active. Not wanting to take any chances, he withdrew as much money as he could from the account and suddenly, crisp and new hundred dollar bills came out in a large wad. Taking the money in hand, Lindsey looked around for any store that was open and hoped they would buy the whole “wash day and the pants were the only thing that were clean” gig.
