A gentle, but still cold breeze rippled the waves of the lake in the silvery light of the wanning moon. The night seemed to be painted with the same soft light, the darkness deepened to hold so many hiding places. She sat by herself near the lake's shore, picking up small pebbles and dropping them near her feet. She was nestled in a small sandy patch of the rock-lined coast that was the beach of Lake Misery.
Misery. The name of this town was Misery. It should have been distressing. But it was peaceful here. The lake was calm, the night was quiet, the sun had vanished behind the tall mountains a few hours ago. Addoed felt as though she had been wrapped in a blanket of calm security. And then, the night's peaceful atmosphere was shattered.
"And what would we have here? A little girl out this late at night? Why, such a foolish waste of life's blood, isn't it, dear brother?" said a male voice. Addoed leapt to her feet, black sandaled shoes kicking up dust in the process, her slim, pale hands clenched into fists at her sides.
Two males, paler than her stood in the shadows, but her sensitive eyes made out their forms in the dim light. The one on the left was the one that had spoken, the one on the right remaind silent. Both wore very old fashioned clothes, she could smell the dust and decay that age brought on them. She slowly calmed her heartbeat, and knew instantly that hers was the only one beating.
"What about this, fool child? We take your pretty little neck, drain you dry, and you not use that little voice of yours to call for help. After all, the last thing we need on our hands is a slayer." They both shuddered at this. So these two... things, did have a weakness...
Addoed raised her chin stubbornly. "No. HELP!" she screamed as loud as she could, trying not to flinch at the loudness of her own scream.

Lisa ran a hand through her hair putting it back into place each time the soft breeze swept through it. She didn’t know what had brought her to lake misery tonight only that some sixth sense had stopped her from hunting in her usual spots and made her come here instead. Twigs snapped beneath her feet as she slowly walked around the edge of the lake trying not to make much noise, it was nice and calm Lisa had forgotten how peaceful the lake was and just how beautiful it looked in the moonlight.
A rustling noise coming from a bush behind her broke the silence and Lisa quickly turned to look but she couldn’t see anything but the moons reflection on the lake out of the corner of her eye. As she stood there taking it all in she wondered if she was just imagining things when she heard the rustle again. 'Oh your so going to get your ass kicked' she thought to herself as she gripped tighter onto the stake she was holding and moved closer to the bush as she did so she heard a sharp piercing scream for help in the opposite direction. A cat came running past her out of the bush and fled the scene, Lisa turned and ran as fast as she could to get to the person that had made the scream almost tripping over a rock as she went.
She came to a halt just behind a tall oak tree and looked at what she had to face, two vampires 'easy!' she thought to herself. These would be nothing compared to what Lisa had faced before, after all you had to be good to be Buffy’s second. "Now two against one isn’t very fair now is it boys." she grinned showing herself. As the vampires turned to look at her she walked slowly towards them. "Why don’t you show me what you’ve got?"

Addoed's ears still rang with the sound of her own voice, which was normally never reaised beyond a quiet murmur so as not to disturb her sensitive hearing. She grimaced and rubbed her ears to futilely stop the pain. It didn't work, of course, but it was better than doing nothing, she reasoned. Despite the ear rinning and rubbing, she was able to hear perfectly. She heard the answer to her cry for help. Her sensitive eyes scanned the darkness for the origin of the voice, which had to be female. And then Addoed spotted her.
A woman, perhaps two or three years older than her stepped from behind a tree, dressed in plain-looking clothes, blonde-haired, with a slender build, she didn't seem like she would be much help. She didn't even seem like a threat, really, all but for the strange wooden stake she carried with her. But her attitude suggested confidence and experience, so Addoed reserved judgement and watched as she adressed the two men as they turned to see her as well.
Everything slowed for a moment as tension mounted. Addoed shivered as a cold breeze blew over her nearly-bare arms. Mesh isn't the warmest covering in the world... The two men stared at the woman, only for a moment, their eyes hateful, but with a sort of resigned air, the poised for attack. Then, they struck with movements that were too fast for Addoed to see, and she cried out to warn the woman. But, it appeared, she was ready for this from her reaction.

As both vampires lunged at Lisa she smirked and somersaulted over them both kicking one of them in the back and sending him to the ground, the other vampire let out a hiss like sound which Lisa could just make out as ”Slayer” and turned to face her. He looked younger than the first vampire his skin didn’t seem as aged; making Lisa think that maybe he was sired when he was younger than the first. He threw a punch which Lisa was able to block easily but then another which caught her jaw and stunned her. He used this opportunity to grab her by the throat and hold her there as he turned to his brother who was getting himself up off the ground “look I caught a slayer” he chuckled.
Lisa used this opportunity to her advantage and whilst the younger vampire was listening to what his brother was saying she grabbed his arm and dug what teeth she could into it, moaning in pain the vampire dropped her ”You guys aren’t the only ones who bite” she said punching the vampire before plunging the stake into his heart.
Lisa then turned to look at the other vampire whose face was full of shock as he watched his brother turn to dust. He let out a howl of anger and pain for his brother and dived on top of Lisa punching every inch of her he could find just wanting to hurt her before he killed her.

"Back off!!!"
There was a resounding crack as an ebony fist crashed into the side of the Vampire's face, sending both him and the unknown attacker rolling along the ground. The sound of fists colliding with skin continued, and the vampire kicked off his attacker, sending him flying into a nearby tree.
The assailant, whose features were hidden beneath a thick black cloak, turned back around, and suddenly blurred towards the vampire, landing a swift uppercut to the vampire's chin and sending him about five feet into the air and back, before the vampire would hit the ground with a loud THUMP, whereas the dark-clad stranger would fold his arms over his chest.
"Damn, it's been FAR too long!"

Confusion. There were two people fighting against the two... whatever they were. One was the female from before. Her surprising strength was obviously anticipated by the two things. They continued to fight her valiantly. Then there was a piercing cry emitted by a male. Tall, ebony-skinned, judging by the fist that had smashed into a Thing's chin with a resounding CRASH! that echoed harshly in Addoed's ears.
Chaos. The two Things fought against the two strangers for quite a while. All Addoed could sense was their fight, hearing harsh breathing, growled threats, the sounds of bones and other hard formations crunching with sickening CRACKs every now and again, and the wind began howling.
'So. Much. NOISE!' Addoed bit back a cry of pain as her ears were assaulted with the sounds of battles and the sound of flesh striking marble. She clamped her hands over her ears, there was simply too much! She closed her eyes, as if that would stop the pain, and make everything go away. She couldn't stop hearing them fighting, though. She felt hot tears stream down her face as her ears continued to be assailed by the sounds of escalating combat. The harsh stench of sweat seemed to grow, as well as the coppery scent of hot blood and the sickening smell of old, curdled, icy cold blood. The groans of pain on the parts of the two Things grew more frequent, and the two Strangers seemed to be winning.
'At long last.' the inner part of her mind seemed to sigh with relief as the sounds of battle ended in two long screams, and the scent of ash and dust wafted over to her. She sank down to her knees, still holding her hands tightly over her ears, eyes clenched shut, teeth gnashed in a grimace of pain. She felt the wind sweep away all traces of the battle from her senses until, finally, it was over. Addoed didn't dare look for fear of what she would see in the darkness. And it had all started out so peacefully...
