To humans, he is known as a well-read bookkeeper who has a vast knowledge of many things supernatural and is a useful asset in Slaying. To his father's kind, the Shadar Demons, he's known as a Prodigal Son-type, whiney and self-centered. As for the truth of it, one would have to know him to find out for sure.
Story of my life;;
Family: Olrox (King of the Shadar Demons), Father; Unknown, Mother;
History: There was never any end to the chaos and devestation the Shadar Demons brought to the Hell Dimensions. They were the Alpha Demons, and had established their dominance over the other forms of demons centuries ago. Olrox, who headed their operations both on Earth as well as in the Hell Dimension had a secret tryst with a human woman, who gave birth to Maximillion. Maximillion, the half-demon prince of the Shadar Demons, inheritor of their Bloodline traits and Birthrights, but still the black sheep of the crowd.
Shadar Demons, often referred in short by historians as "Shadow Demons" can tap into a dimension of pure darkness and channel said darkness into solid, liquid or gaseous form, for a variety of uses. Similarly, they can also do what they refer to as "Shadow Step" where they step into a shadow or self-made portal, and reappear somewhere else within eyeshot of their former location. This technique's mastery, as Maximillion soon found when he was about 200 years old, was key in having an advantage over his pureblooded cousins.
Maximillion, tired of the redundancy of the Shadar Demons and their constant lust for chaos and power, decided to aid the Watcher's Council in eliminating them, as well as the other species that plagued humankind and threatened to make them extinct. Being over 3,000 years old has offered him a wide plethora of knowledge about both the mundane AND the supernatural, which has aided the Watcher's Council in the past in dealing with Vampires, both young and old. However, due to his being half demon, the WC has made a special deal with him. They dislike the Demon in him, but want to ensure the safety of the Human in him, so they've agreed to let him do as he wishes so long as he, quote 'relinquishes the creed and tendancies of the Shadar Demon race', to which Maximillion has readily accepted.
Currently residing within the town of Misery, Maximillion owns his own shop that offers spellbooks and spell ingredients -- the fake ones for wannabe pagans who want to cast lovespells and whatnot -- as well as the REAL spellbooks and ingredients for legitimate witches, warlocks and other spellcasters.
Even though Maximillion can cast spells by following the instructions in the books, he stays away from the books, due to a motto he lives by, "Never conjure up what ye cannot put down". Unfamiliar with the Arcane Arts, he chooses to stay away from them unless his help is needed in one, in which case he will make an exception.
Sample Role Play;;
An exerpt from another RPG:
Standing in the midst of the clearing, Maximillion stepped to the side as Alodie walked into the clearing behind him, drawing back the brush that hid the enormous metallic construct behind his shadowy form.
"Time travel is far slower this way than when it's done by the Chrono Demons, but we will have plenty of time to train in here, to work on being in our best physical shape when the time comes. I even added a Gravity Enhancement Chamber, or 'Gravitron' for short. I will continue with what I've been training on these past two centuries, in a gravity chamber 100x Earth's gravity."
Pulling a remote control out of his pocket, he pushed a button and a large door came outwards, hitting the ground with a thunk, the interior of the shape all but a thick white glow.
"Are we ready?"
Alodie swallowed hard as she handed Max a strand of her golden-brown hair, then took a firm grip on Olim’s hand. “Ready?” she said with a shaky laugh. “Can one ever really be ready for such a thing? I suppose though I am as ready as I shall ever be.”
Suddenly she dug into one of the numerous pouches that hung from her belt, pulling out a large chunk of black stone that seemed to absorb the light, and handed it to Max.
“Here,” she said. “I remember once you told me the Mounts of Light Descending would boost your power, so some time ago I went there and got this for you. I hope it will serve you well.”
Facing the strange contraption, she squared her shoulders, her face taking on the look of determination she had once worn far too often, determined to face whatever may come, no matter the consequences. Then she bent to scoop Olim up into her arms and walked forward, into the unknown.
WHOOSH!
After she had disappeared into the ship, Maximillion took the fragment of rock -- what he called an "Umbral Stone" -- and smirked. Extending a hand, ten thick tendrils of shadow shot from his hand, wrapping around some of the nearby trees, encircling them many times, then ripping them out of the ground and hurling them into the air.
Pocketing the Umbral Stone, Maximillion clasped his hands together, and the tendrils formed into two massive walls that emerged on either side of the airborne trees, then crushed the trees between their fiersome might.
Once the walls disappeared, tiny chips of wood and bark fell harmlessly to the ground, but the grin on Maximillion's face would've easily put anyone who didn't know him instantly at unease.
"Well now, this shall come in handy, won't it?"
Dusting his hands off, he stuffed them in his pants pockets and stepped into the brilliant white glow of the ship's interior, disappearing inside after Alodie.
The ship door would lift upwards and close shut, steam issuing from it's corners as it compressed the air inside, then it began to whirl around in circles before it vanished with a loud BANG!
They were off!
~*~*~*~
Inside the ship, Alodie looked around. Most of what she saw made no sense to her, but then again, she hadn’t expected it to. Putting Olim down, she watched as he began to wander about, his green-glass eyes taking in everything and missing nothing.
“Don’t touch anything, Olim,” she cautioned. “After all, I wouldn’t want to wind up in the middle of a mountain.”
After a few minutes, Alodie began to wander around herself, trying to figure out where the necessary areas were, such as bedrooms, the kitchen and the bathing room.
Stepping into the ship, he smiled to see Alodie and Olim going about the ship and taking in everything.
"This ship is something unlike anything you may've ever experienced before. Whilst it is an inanimate object, it is also a sentient being. It is operated by means unimaginable by most, but in a way perfected by yours truly. Still, it should have the basic necessities you're looking for."
A uniformed man, elderly yet regal-looking, appeared before Maximillion and saluted him. Maximillion nodded, signaling the man to be 'at ease' as he leaned against the back of one of the chairs at the head of the ship.
"Please show Lady Alodie and Sir Olim to the kitchens so that they may have a snack or two, to the showers and toilets so that they may relieve themselves, then to their quarters so that they know where they'll be sleeping. Once done, please bring them back here, and I will brief them on how this trip is to go."
With a friendly wave to the three figures, Maximillion turned to the front of the ship, and the glowing spheres up front. With a sigh, he closed his eyes and extended both palms towards the two largest spheres up front. Tendrils of darkness snaked out of his hands, and somehow phased right through the glass orbs and the ship around them began to hum as life came to it.
With a chuckle, Maximillion moved his hands as if operating a circular disc of some sort, and the ship began to move, although it's movements were so still, it was hard to believe it was moving at all.
"Next stop.....THE PAST!"
