Soyoko walked through a dark alley. The alley reeked from the garbage overflowing in the trash cans throughout the path. Soyoko stared at the lights in the apartment buildings as they flickered on an off. As he continued down the alley he heard a trash can behind him fall over and he stopped moving and closed his eyes.
You picked the wrong alley to walk through little man!
Soyoko didn't budge as the vampire started to race towards him. His mind was unfettered as he waited for the fiend to strike him. "Why would vampires attack him?" Soyoko thought to himself as his emotionless body continued to stand still...

There was the sound of feet hitting pavement, then something like steel being unsheathed, and the bone-chilling sound that always followed a Vampire being beheaded and it turning into dust.
What appeared to be a black elongated blade was thrust forth from the night, apparently responsible for the death of the Vampire. It would suddenly lose it's shape, shimmer and disappear into the endless shadows of the night from whence it came.
"You take needless risks, young one.." A deep, regal voice rang out across the alleyway. Almost silent footfalls rang out across the ground as an unseen figure walked slowly towards Soyoko, a nearby neon light catching the man's face in time to reveal a dark, ebony complexion and long, raven-black hair that cascaded down past the man's shoulders.
"The younger breed always think it is 'cool' to just stand still until the last second before performing some melodramatic move that could've been performed moments ago, dispatching the threat. Do you know how many have died because they were trying to be dramatic about their kills, and they were caught unawares?"
The figure stopped, his movements blurring as he pivoted on his heel with blinding speed and thrust his fist forward, slamming it straight through the chest of a Vampire that had just lept down off of one of the nearby buildings. The dark-clad man's arm didn't even shake from the weight and momentum of the Vampire, and it didn't soon matter as the vamp was nothing more than dust seconds later, his heart penetrated by the stranger's fist.
"That was out of sheer necessity. Even I do not enjoy taking their lives. Hell is all their kind have to look forward to once they die."
Turning around, he continued walking towards Soyoko until he was about five feet away, extending a hand.
"The name is Mr Twilight. And you would be?"

Soyoko turned around examining the man who had just killed the vampire who were foolish enough to attack him. He then looked down at the man's had and extended his shaking his hand...
My name is Soyoko Sishimata. It's obvious that you aren't human.
Soyoko was skeptical about this "Mr. Twilight"guy. What kind of name was that he though to himself. For all he knew he was the leader of the vamps and this was a ploy to get in good with him for some unknown scheme. For now he would speak with him and see what he was truly after...
So tell me what are you doing out this late?

"Why am I out so late?"
Maximillion puzzled over that question for a few moments before raising his hand, his eyes aglow as if he'd just stumbled upon a bright answer, before his gaze turned back to Soyoko.
"Because I'm something of a night person, that's why. What is YOUR reason for being out? Suppose I decide to take offense at your lurking about out here? What then?!"
He was razzing the young guy, nothing more than giving him a hard time in a playful manner, but there was a certain edge to his tone that almost *DARED* the young one to take his words the wrong way.
"Your name. It sounds....Japanese in origin, am I correct? Please, tell me more of yourself. A strange request from a stranger you've just met in the street, but I assure you....nothing bad can come of my knowing a little more about you. Should I get the impression you're being honest with me, I will share the same details about myself. Why?"
The older man chuckled, running a hand through his long, black hair.
"I have, by far, nothing better to do!"

I'm looking for my sister Asuki. I was told to come here and look for her.
Soyoko then vanished and appeared on the roof top. He then stared at Maximillion. He really didn't trust the words that Maximillion spoke. Soyoko was knew to the town and really didn't want to make friends...
I'll handle this my own way, but thank you for the concern.
Soyoko then vanishes into the night sky...

Jonathan had been quietly watching the night time events from a nearby rooftop with great interest. At first, the simple spectacle of Vampire vs Demon was enough for him; it was a keen interest of his to study how demons interacted and even fought one another.
Then this new character showed up... and he was interesting. Jonathan had to focus very hard to get much sense out of his aura. There was something old, and powerful there... the mark of the Shadow Demons, and yet the taste of chaos was... subdued? And there was something else... a human element. Both in origin and influence. He listened keenly to his conversation with the one who introduced himself as 'Soyoko'. Looking for his sister? Well... Jonathan could sort of relate to that, but as quickly as he appeared, Soyoko was gone, leaving 'Mr. Twilight' on his own.
Jonathan sighed and expertly glided down to street level, removing his night vision goggles and coming to stand next to Mr. Twilight.
"Poor kid." Jonathan commented, "He could probably do with having someone keep an eye on him..."

"He could probably do with having someone keep an eye on him..."
Maximillion chuckled, stuffing his hands into his pockets and shrugging.
"Perhaps so, but I don't rightly think it's my job to keep track of the younger generation. They tend to be a bit flighty, but that's to be expected. Especially from the Overnight Demons."
He referred, of course, to those whose demonic status was given to them by a higher power, from someone like D'Hoffryn or another of the Elder Demons, but the result was the same...that same desire to keep testing the limits of their powers as a means of compensating for the years spent as mundane humans.
But that was a topic for another time, though. Maximillion realized that, whilst he waxed philosophical in his head, the other man was patiently awaiting a response from him.
"Well, perhaps I might keep an eye out for him. My eyes-and-ears will do a better job of that than I will, though. But enough about me.....who're you, and what are YOU doing here at such a late hour, mein freund?"

Jonathan smiled lightly.
"Ich bin ein aufdringlicher an Schlaflosigkeite Leidender. He replied. I am an obtrusive sufferer of insomnia. He hadn't spoken German for some time and wasn't entirely sure that he'd gotten all of the words in the right order, but the gist was there.
He laughed softly.
"My name's Jonathan Locke. I'm one of those irritating people who prowl around on rooftops at night and look for good deeds to do." He said extending a hand to shake. Despite his jovial tone, he suddenly realised that what he'd said was actually a fairly accurate description.
Should I get a cape? And a mask? He wondered. Meh.
"And I get the feeling that you're name isn't actually 'Mr. Twilight'? But if it's what you want to be called then I'm down with that."

"I have no real need for secrecy, but I DO so love the idea of masquerading as some kind of superhero." Maximillion replied, taking one of his hands out of his pockets and taking the man's own and shaking it, before politely letting go and placing it back in his pocket.
"I do something of the same sort myself, although I'm more known for appearing out of nowhere in the midst of a brawl or an intimate moment being shared by a couple of some sort. I love to make an entrance, and that's kinda been my thing for the past several millennia."
Dammit! I just spilled the beans! Hopefully, he will just think it a joke!
"All joking aside though, you headed anywhere in particular?"

Jonathan sparked up a cigarette as he listened to Maximiillion and his love of an impressive entrance.
I can relate to that... wasn't that long ago I was smashing apart Downfall for some information.
"Yeah, entrances are important if you want to make the right impression straight from the off. You only ever get one introduction, you might as well make it count." Jonathan said, exhaling smoke. He didn't seem to bat an eyelid at Maximillion's little slip up.
"Dude, chill." He said, looking at Mr. Twilight with a light-hearted smile, "I read auras. I know what you are. Sort of. I have to say, yours confused me a little - I picked up some sort of deep, dark uber demon mixed in with a chunk of human. If you don't mind me asking, are you half-breed or just human raised, maybe?"
Speicies interaction was something that Jonathan had a keen interest in. His ultimate goal, though one he never realistically expected to achieve, was to root out all of the aggressive factions and hopefully pave the way for a world that could hold humans and demons as equals... even as he thought about it, it sounded ridiculous and impossible. But then, everyone needs a cause.
