Even though it was nice and warm earlier in the day as soon as the sun set the wind came along with the cold. Gail tunged on her jacket trying to keep it from slipping as she walked. Her sword swung on her side attached to her belt and her stake was held firmly in her right hand. "Here vampires. Come out where ever you are." She rolled her eyes at herself, never really expecting herself to accually call and see if one appeared. Looking behind her she hoped for an ambush or something that would entertain her for the night, though going home seemed more welcoming.
As if on cue a large, fire red haired vampire came out from behind a tree and lunged at her. She side stepped him and kicked his back. He went flying a few feet and hit the ground with a thud. In seconds she already had her sword out and aimed at the vampire. It wouldn't be as fun as fighting an expierenced vampire but it would have to do. "Slayer."He hissed. Gail rolled her eyes for the second time. "What was your first guess." Then was hit hard. In anger from the punch and the fact she let it happen she didn't see the other two coming toward her left.

It was just as the vision showed him. One moment, he was in his motel room, resting and suddenly, he was blasted with a vision of a Slayer outnumbered by vampires in a cemetery. As Lindsey took a cab to the hospital, he was sure to dress for the moment. Wearing a leather jacket, black t-shirt, jeans and boots, he took a broadsword that he had bought and transformed it into a simple pocket knife for the ride there. Upon arrival, there she was, fighting off one vampire, while the others came after her form behind.
At the last moment, Lindsey jumped from behind the trees, changed the knife back into his broadsword, and decapitated one of the vampires that ran for the Slayer. The other vampire looked in shock as one of his comrades had fallen to such an attack. “Hey there, that’s a face that only a mother could love. Why don’t you show me what you got, and I’ll promise to make this quick.” Lindsey mocked the vampire.
“You’re going to regret both what you did, and said, pretty boy!” the vamp said to Lindsey as he went for his throat. Before he could attack though, Lindsey had already ducked underneath the vampire’s legs and stood up to perform a 180 degree, horizontal slash to the neck. The vampire turned to dust. Turning around again, he waited for the Slayer to finish off her own vampire.

Gail grabbed the head of the vampire and had him a head lock long enough to turn around and see the other fight. She hadn't seen a two vampire attack in awhile. It was normal for her to avoid groups and stay with the ones who 'thought' they were good enough to go on their own. It was for her safty rather then being lazy or afraid. All of which was probley true, even for a slayer who seemed like she fears nothing. Gail found her grasp on the vampire weakening and then got kicked away. She glared at the vamp and got up quickly. She punched him hard, leaving her sword on the ground and the vampire in a daze.
Grabbing her stake which she had dropped before the attack she plunged it into the vampire. She stared at the man who had helped her and wondered how she didn't notice the other two vamps before. She put her sword back into the loop she made to carry it and returned her gaze back to the guy. "Um." She tried to talk but after that embarressing moment and the fact that she was talking to a complete stranger her social skills dropped to an even lower level. "Thanks." Gail looked down at her shoes.

Lindsey scratched the back of his head slightly and walked up to her. She was a very formidable slayer, and took care of her vampire with little effort. Lindsey, being the expert in swords, thought he did well on his own as well. As she spoke to him, Lindsey was dumbfounded and had no idea what to say. He had just helped someone he did not know for once in a very long while. He was not used to this sort of thing at all. Thinking quickly, he finally came up with the right words to say.
“Not a problem. I was in the area, and heard some noise.” Silently, he sighed and looked up at the night sky. With his sword resting in his right hand, he looked back at her and figured it would be time to get acquainted. It would be the first time he got to know a girl since he met Eve. He wondered then if she had escaped Wolfram and Hart when Angel took down their LA branch. Angel. There was another person that wasn’t exactly on his favorites list. When he had a lackey kill him, rather than he, it was one of the most infuriating moments of his entire existence.
Snapping back into reality and keeping a friendly gaze on her, he finally spoke up by asking her, “So, what is your name, Miss Slayer? I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting one in a while.”

Gail smiled and looked back at him, trying to be friendly. Her sword banged into her side as she dusted her self off. Her jacket was ruined and she looked pretty bad after being tossed onto the ground but she couldn't care less."Good thing you did. I don't think I could handle that many vampires at the same time." She said. When he asked her what her name back she wasn't sure if should answer him. she wasn't sapossed to tell anyone she was a slayer and the vampires couldn't know who she was either. It would be a waste lying though since he already knew that she was a slayer.
She sighed quietly before returning the friendly gaze. "I'm Gail." She said. "And you would be?" Gail waited and, ignoring the pain from the hits she took momments to try to figure out why she was trying to make friends. Usually she just stuck to herself, putting up an invisible sheild from others. Then she remembered he just helped her and she atleast could be nice to him.

Brushing back a part of his long hair behind his left ear, Lindsey smiled politely to her once more. He still could not believe that he did what he just done. He saved someone for a second time. Not for a greater goal, not for a reward, but rather because he knew it was the right thing. Even though, the person did take care of one of the vampires that was attacking her. “Fortunately, I have some history in fighting vampires. Nasty guys, but thankfully the majority of them are normally stupid. But aside that, I did what any good guy would do. I decided to help.” His smiled brightened a bit, but his eyes were directed to the ground when he said the words good and guy in the same sentence.
When she introduced herself, he had forgotten to introduce himself as well. “I’m Lindsey,” he said, “it’s a pleasure to meet you.” He looked towards his own sword and made it shift back into a simple pocket knife. He then placed it in his pocket and cracked his neck. “Just wondering, but you wouldn’t mind some company tonight would you? Just incase you’re outnumbered again?”

Thinking of the cold boring moments only a few minutes ago, Gail nodded. “I don't mind.” She answered. Remembering what was waiting for her at home, she figured she need the help. She knew one more slip up and she might not make it through the night. She could leave the twins alone like she was. She began walking with him, still in thinking of her family at home.
Returning her attention away from her thoughts and back to Lindsey, Gail could almost picture worried expression she must have on her face. “But I'm not gonna be out to late.” She said. She had to leave early she wasn't gonna leave him alone to fend for himself. In her eyes, everyone needed protection, even herself. “So what are you anyways?” The question sounded weird to her. "I'm not trying to sound rude or anything but most humans can't change their pocket knives into swords unless they're a witch."

As they began walking, Lindsey took a good look at her. As long as they did not have to return to his shabby motel room that he had rented out for an entire month, he was okay. Sometimes he missed the apartment that he had when he was in Wolfram and Hart, but time away from the law firm beforehand had gotten him used to being back to his roots. Heck, he slept better than he ever did when he was a kid. That was a time he did not ever wish to recollect, and yet he could not help but put a sort of timeline together. He went from rags to riches to somewhat rags again to captured to hell dimension to back again to dead and now back again. The thought was rather odd and would be something fun to tell his kids, should he be blessed to have any at some point, if he didn’t screw this time up.
“I understand,” he said softly, “even a Slayer needs her rest, and besides, I have seen a good number of other Slayers lurking around. I’m actually trying to find one…but she isn’t easy to find.” he fell silent and walked with her a little bit longer before being asked what he was, exactly. He laughed lightly and said, “It’s alright, I don’t mind asking. I’m not a witch, but I did learn how to do that once, when I traveled to Tibet. A useful trick in times of need…however, to tell you the truth, I don’t know what I am anymore.” He slowed his pace and looked her in the eyes. He noticed she had pretty eyes, but from this close up, he found them to be beautiful. “Would you like the short, simple and to the point version? Or the long, rather dull, rather boring, but rather interesting supernatural story behind it?” He asked her, a small smile on his face.

Gail turned away to look out around the area. It was just as quiet and empty as a few minutes ago. She sighed and began kicking a rock around. "Well most slayers go to the Watcher Headquarters place. You could try there." She said. "It must be nice being able to travel.” She signed again. Her foster mom didn't like to leave town that much while Gail was growing up and now she just couldn't afford to leave. She had kids to take care of and she couldn't pay for the trip anyways.
“I'd like to hear the whole story if you don't mind. Since there isn't anything interesting happening and I'm sure the story isn't that boring.” She smiled back at him. The wind died down a bit so their much a chill anymore which was good for her. She wasn't good with cold or dressing for it. She couldn't afford that either. No one would hire a girl who hates to be told what to do. "It'll probley be better then my life story atleast. Mine's full of demons and things getting their heads cut off." She laughed.
