Tears fell from brown eyes. Buri stared at the big whole. Her knuckles were white. Small half moons of blood covered her palm. Never give up, never give in, never give up, never… The thump of her foot hitting the tree stopped. She had no shoe or anything on it. The bark had torn the skin. Buri slumped down using the tree as support. Her breath was short. She had been out here six hours. Her body had reached its limit. She was no slayer. Her face was red from the heat. She was out here because she had lost. Every time she lost she came out here for a few hours but never as long as this. It was times like this when she wished she had someone to depend on. But wishes never came true. Her breath slowed. The world started to fade….

Max was through with all ofpaperwork and boring "kill the slayer" meetings back at HQ so he decided just to take a drive. It had been a while since he had been to Sunnydale so he decided to go take a peak. When he got there he got out the car. It was a fairly hot day. His black shades blocked some of the sun from his eyes as the light kissed his skin. To Max this was a great place to reflect. For some reason the whole put everything into perspective for him. As he began to zone out he noticed a girl sitting on the ground. IOsn't that the girl from the base?

Buri was already asleep. Her body working to mend her many cuts. A noise rang in her ear. Buri jumped up with a catlike reflex to see Max. The world began to spin. Her knee’s buckled. Buri had a strong will but her body was far to week After hours of training.
“Great you gona come pick on me again? Or maybe just beat me up while I’m down?” She yelled though her eyes were closed. The wind rustled her down hair. She was wearing a white tank top with an unfastened army jacket and army pants.

He leaned up against the car. A didn't know you'd be here Buri. What's a cute girl like you doing at the whole. He noticed she was looking kinda of tired so he reached in his car through the window and grabbed a bottled water and towel. He then tossed em at her. Looks like you overdid it a little.

Buri accepted the water. It felt good on her thought. She noticed his use of the word cute. She didn’t feel in the mood for giving him a snappy comeback. When he asked what she was doing she shrugged. And bobbed her head toward the tree. She could see red smudges on it.
“Nothing much. I probly over did it a bit but I gota do whatever I need to to be strong. You men will always be a little stronger and a little faster, same with the slayers. So I have to work twice as hard just to be equal. And if I complain I get beat to a bloody pulp and then kicked out.” She said and took another sip of the water. She tried to stand and winced at the pain in her foot.

Max shook his head. You have no idea. I'm not to big on the people in the army. I'm with special ops so I don't take orders from the general like you all. Max took off his glasses and walks over to Buri. He crouches down next to her. I can respect your drive to be strong though. I don't do this much but when you get rested up. I'll help you.

Buri smiled at the comment. She stood up ignoring her foot.
“Your funny, and one of the few people who is roughly nice to me but I can’t accept help from anyone. I’m only as strong as my will.” She said with a chuckle. With that the brunet walked off. Limping the whole time.
((Tis awful and late. Im going to try to be more active.))
