Name: Vampires And Slayer
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Takes place after Buffy vs. Dracula. Buffy has a secret that nobody knows about...yet.
Notes: This is my first fic ever, and was writting back when I was still doing one-liner RP. So the writing itself is not very good.
PART 1
'Lame patrol' Buffy thought as she walked along a pathway in one of Sunnydale's cemeteries. But suddenly she heard a crash not too far from her. She ran over to see what was going on. As soon as she got there see saw a vamp being through against a wall. She moved in closer to see who threw it and was very surprised to see Faith. Before Faith could get to the vamp, Buffy staked him.
"Faith. What are you doing here?"
"Hey B, just got out on parole. Figured I'd come back to Sunnydale."
"So you can cause even more trouble?"
"No. I came back to apologize and maybe help out around here."
"OK."
Buffy turned around and began to walk out of the cemetery while Faith followed.
"I really am sorry for what I did," she said.
"I know you are."
Faith looked at Buffy. "Really?"
"Yeah. I knew when I saw you at Angel's. Well, I gotta go. Giles wants me to tell him if anything eventful happened tonight. He thinks that Drac might still have some minions around."
"Drac? As in Dracula? He was here? Man, I really did miss some stuff while I was in prison."
"Yeah. Well, see you soon."
"See ya, B." Buffy walked off and Faith walked to her apartment.
'I can't believe that I missed her so much' Faith thought as she lay down on her bed. Her thoughts were filled with Buffy as she fell asleep.
*****
The next morning, Buffy woke up to the sound of her doorbell. She got up, and quickly got dressed. When she answered the door, she was greeted by Riley's face. "Riley, what's wrong?"
"I have to go. I can't explain why; I just have to go."
Buffy for some reason wasn't feeling as sad as she should. She just stood there and remained silent as Riley walked out of the doorway and out of her life. Before she could shut the door Faith showed up.
"Hey B. What's wrong with military boy?"
"He's going, for good."
"Oh. Well, I'm sorry."
"Don't be. Truth be told, I'm not. We were growing apart and should have ended our relationship a long time ago."
"Oh. Well the reason I'm here is because I was wondering if you wanted to tell everybody that I'm back yet or if they should find out on their own."
"Um…let me find out how they'll react to you and then we'll decide. OK?"
"Alright, well I'd better go."
"OK. See ya."
"Bye" Faith walked out the door and Buffy closed it behind her.
*****
That night Faith was walking around the graveyard patrolling. 'I knew I forgot to ask Buffy something.' She walked around for five more minutes before deciding to leave. As soon as she reached the front gate she felt that a vamp was nearby. She followed her instincts and ran to the other end of the graveyard where she saw a vamp chasing a young boy. She grabbed the vamp and threw it away from the boy. She was about to help the boy up when he put his "game face" on and pulled her down trying to bite her. She easily broke free and staked him. She turned to face the other vamp, but saw that it was knocked out against the side of a mausoleum wall. She walked up to it, stake in hand. As soon as she saw the vamp clearly, she dropped the stake and stood there, speechless. The vamp woke up and saw Faith staring at her. She quickly took her game face off to reveal who she was.
"Faith."
"B, you're one of them! How?"
"Drac."
"But I saw you today in the light."
"The slayer blood allows me to walk during the day and keep my soul. I'm sorry you had to find out. Just please don't tell anyone. They all know I was bit, but this-I could never bare to see the look on their faces."
"Buffy, I promise I won't tell anyone, but you know they will find out sooner or later."
"Yeah I know. I understand if you wanna stake me now, get it over with."
"Buffy, I could never do that, even if you didn't have a soul. I…"
"What?"
"Never mind."
"No, Faith. Tell me what you want to say."
"It's not that simple."
"OK."
They began to walk back to the gate of the cemetery when Buffy stopped them. "Faith?"
"Yeah B?"
"I love you too."
"How did you know?"
"I can tell. And I knew it when you didn't stake me when I told you to."
Buffy began to lean towards Faith. Before Faith could register what was happening Buffy's lips were on her own. She reacted by slowing entering her tongue in Buffy's mouth. Buffy could have went on like this forever, but Faith needed the oxygen, so she pulled away.
"That was…"
"Amazing," Buffy replied continuing Faith's sentence.
"B, I don't want to, but I should really get going. Do you think we can tell everyone about me being back tomorrow?"
"Yeah. Can you meet me at Giles' place at six?"
"I'll be there. See you then."
"Goodbye Faith," Buffy replied as Faith walked out of the graveyard.
*****
Buffy had called a Scooby meeting at Giles' place at six. Everyone was there and Faith hadn't arrived yet.
Xander spoke up.
"What's going on Buff?"
"Um…well…" Buffy was cut off when the doorbell rang.
Giles stood up. "Who could that be?" He opened the door, revealing Faith standing outside. He remained silent, so Xander and Willow decided to see who it was. They walked up to the doorway. As soon as Willow saw Faith, she used her powers to send Faith flying into a wall. Buffy ran outside to help Faith, who was now knocked out.
"Willow stop!"
"You knew she was here?!"
"Yes. I saw her two nights ago fighting a couple of vamps. Xander help me get her inside."
"No."
By then everyone was outside watching what was going on.
"I'll help you get her inside," Tara said as she approached Buffy and Faith.
"Tara get away from her! She's evil!" Willow warned her girlfriend.
"No honey, she's not. I can tell." Buffy bent down and picked up Faith, only needing Tara to open the door that was shut after Anya and Tara rushed out outside. Buffy laid Faith on the couch and tried to wake her up. She didn't notice that any of the others came inside.
"Baby, wake up. Please baby wake up."
"What did you call her?!" Xander demanded as soon as he heard what she said.
Tara was mad that Xander reacted to what Buffy had called Faith in such a harsh tone. "You heard her! So what if she loves Faith?! I don't see the difference between Buffy loving Faith, and me loving Willow!"
Willow was shocked. "Buffy, do you love Faith?" she asked.
"Yes, very much. She doesn't care that I'm…She loves me for who I am."
Xander and Willow couldn't take it any longer. "I'm getting out of here. You coming Will?"
"Right behind ya."
They left the apartment.
"I don't think she's evil," Anya said after not talking for the entire time. "Giles, is she evil?"
"No Anya, like Tara said she's not evil. Tara, you might want to go talk to Willow. And Anya, you should go talk to Xander."
"OK," they both replied as they walked out the door. Giles sat down in a chair across from Faith and placed his hand on Buffy's shoulder.
"She should wake up soon," he said reassuringly.
"I hope so."
Eventually, Giles fell asleep on the chair, but Buffy did not dare go to sleep. At about 1 AM, Faith came to and opened her eyes.
"Buffy, what happened?"
"Willow did not respond to you being here well. Neither did Xander. Will used her powers to throw you against a wall. I was trying to wake you up and called you baby, and Xander got mad. But when he showed it, Tara lost it and told everyone about us. Willow and Xander left. Tara, Anya, and Giles know that you are not evil, and they accept us. But no one knows about me being a…"
"Yeah. I didn't think that you would tell them, especially tonight. We don't have to tell them."
"I just don't want them to find out. After tonight, though, I think I can tell Giles and Tara. I think Anya would say something to Xander though."
"Can we go home now?"
"Yeah, you can stay at my place. Mom is away for the weekend."
"OK," Faith replied as she stood up and walked out the door with Buffy. On the way home, a group of vamps attacked Buffy and Faith. Buffy could sense them, but Faith was too preoccupied with thoughts that she didn't know they were coming until Buffy pushed her away. Buffy quickly put on her game face and was able to take the three vamps out in seconds. Faith stood up from the ground and walked back over to Buffy.
"Faith, I don't want you to have to see me like this."
"Buffy, I don't mind. I love you no matter what you look like," Faith replied as she began to lean towards Buffy. She closed the gap between them, placing her lips on Buffy's. She pulled away. "See? It doesn't matter what you look like."
"Thank you for not caring."
"Oh, I care, just not about this." Faith replied as she place her hand on Buffy's forehead.
PART 2
The next morning, Buffy called Giles and Tara. She asked them to come over her place in an hour, by themselves. They were very curious about why they were asked to meet Buffy alone. When they got there, they were greeted at the door by Faith.
"Faith, why are we here?" Giles asked.
"Buffy has something to tell you."
"But why not tell everyone?"
"She'll tell you. Just go sit on the couch; she'll be there in a sec." Faith walked upstairs, leaving Giles and Tara in the living room. Within seconds, Buffy walked downstairs.. But when she was in the room, she kept to the shadows, the blinds were drawn and the lights were off.
Tara stood up. "Buffy, what's wrong?" She could sense that Buffy was nervous. She walked closer and saw that Buffy was a vamp. "I'm sorry."
Giles didn't know why Tara was sorry. "What's going on?"
Buffy stepped out of the shadows. "I'm the thing that I patrol for. But...I have a soul and I can walk in the daylight, because of the slayer blood."
"Buffy...I-" Giles was cut off.
"Just please don't tell anyone, especially Willow and Xander."
Tara pulled Buffy into a hug. "We won't, I promise."
Buffy took her vamp face off and pulled away. "Thankyou. I just can't bare the look they would get on their faces. I told both of you because I trust you and you did not go against me when you found out about Faith. Just one question, Tara, how did you know I loved Faith?"
"I could just sense the love that both of you felt for each other. And I'm sorry for telling every one."
"Don't be. I would have told them sooner or later."
"Where is she? Faith, I mean." Giles asked.
"I asked her to go get me some...food." Buffy hesitated before saying the last word.
"Oh. I should have known you would still need to drink. Um Tara, you have classes. We should go." They said their goodbyes and left.
*****
The next few weeks were going great for Buffy and Faith. Willow and Xander eventually accepted their relationship along with Faith being back in general. Giles and Tara kept Buffy's secret, as promised.
Buffy and Faith were on patrol, fighting a group of vamps. They easily took out the group and decided to go to the Bronze to celebrate with a night of Dancing. But right before they opened the door, they were attacked and began to fight with an unknown demon.
PART 3
Buffy morphed into vamp-face and charged at the demon. It stepped aside but Faith had caught on and began to hit it with a series of punches and kicks.
When the demon was on the ground, suffering for the ‘abuse’, Buffy straddled it. She snapped its neck with her bare hands and then got up off of it. Faith, who was actually off to the side at the point, walked over to Buffy. Putting her hands on her hips, Faith kissed Buffy deeply, who was still in vamp face.
“I knew it!” Willow shouted as she saw them. Everyone was beside her, they had heard the commotion outside.
Faith stepped away from Buffy. “Red…it’s not-” She was cut off when Willow used her powers to send Faith flying into a dumpster.
“Willow wait,” Buffy spoke up.
Willow directed her attention to Buffy. “No…”
Buffy stepped up towards Willow and reverted to her human form. “It’s ok…” She paused. “I have a soul.”
Faith stood up, and walked back over to the group. “That almost hurt Red,” she joked. Buffy looked at her and smiled. Faith smiled back. Everything was out in the air….finally.
“So,” Xander said, “Bronzing?”
