As Dylan opened the driver's door of her old stingray, a dry and warm air wisped in to lick at the moisture of her skin. Inhaling deeply she adjusted her chair, and climbed out, stretching and arching her back. Turning around she shut her car door, and walked around to the trunk. It was getting late, and although the air was warm, as it moved around her it did nothing but cool her down. Grabbing a light jacket out and throwing it around herself she walked slowly to the edge of the cliff.
Something was odd about this place, she felt like she wanted to be happy, ready to start over, excited about the prospect of a new life, but this spot...This special spot just wouldn't let her. She sighed, overwhelmed, thinking about the tasks she would have at hand as soon as she set up shop here in Misery. Misery, she laughed...Just as good as any she hoped for. Anymore thats all she could expect from a place, so why should this be any different. As the sun set, she moved her eyes from the rocks below, back to the roadway watching the sun dip below the horizon and leave her in a bit of the dark. She sighed, rubbing her tired eyes and stretched once more, looking back over the edge of the cliff. She smirked to herself, spinning her keys in her hand.
"Make it here, or settle for there..."
Tossing a rock over the edge of the cliff, she turned and strode back to her car, getting in and playing her music a little louder than before. The stingray kicked up the clay, as she pulled away from the cliff with nothing but tail lights and a city limit sign in the rear view mirror.
