Backpack slung over her back, Brooklyn was walking and wandering in the town she now called home. It was a town right? Brooklyn didn't really know, but it sounded right. Town...Or city. Plenty of little words regardless.
It was night time, and Brooklyn was out wandering about in her own little world, unknowing of a certain amount of doom in the world. All was normal in her world, where vampires and demons and werewolves were only stuff of legend and fairytales. She had her cane, and was quite aware of her vulnerability.
She was after all, only a small asian woman with a bad knee in the middle of a park, alone. At night. Thankfully, she wasn't carrying any cash. That would have just made her the target of every criminal in the area. Oh well.
[glow=Pink,2,300]What do I do in a place like this? Haven't found a club yet... Nor anything else for that matter. Maybe I should try going to the school and making friends there?[/glow]
Of course her get-up was strange in itself, Well, more pop-ish. Like she belonged in a music video. All her clothes were black/white/grey, with stripes and such as well. She almost looked...French.

Jason hadn't had much excitement since the night he saw Duncan at the park. What a night that was. Duncan was back in town...probably to stay now. If he wasn't killing any body he was probably getting somebody drunk and having fun that way. Either nailing them in the gut or nailing them on the rug.
Jason was dressed in his usuall black jacket over white t-shirt. Alyssa was always telling him he should try a new style. He found his style quite fitting actually. Apearantly it was a cliche. And now with his brown paper bag tucked under his arm...that really wasn't good for his image.
He was on his way back to his apartment. He had just stopped at the store from some milk, bread, chips, usual stuff. Beer as well, gotta have beer. He actually paid for the food, well he stole the money he had used to buy the food of course, but still.
What do we have here? ran through his mind as he saw a young girl wandering the lakeside. Why was everyone stupid in this town? Now that was a cliche, not his clothing.
"What are we doing out here so late at night?" he questioned coming up behind the girl.

And BAM! It hit her like a freight train. Well, a human-shaped train with not so much train, as spoken words. But, you get the idea. If she could have jumped out of her pants though...She likely wouldn't have. Well, she got scared, yeah. Sure. But of someone walking up behind her? Leisurely? Hardly.
She looked at the man before a slightly confused, yet warm smile crossed her lips.
[glow=Pink,2,300]"I..Uh, I'm Brooklyn. Sorry for English. Not so good. I'm from Singapore."[/glow]
Maybe too much information, but she had to make friends somehow. And maybe her origins could be a catalyst. What could it hurt? Really? She was already vulnerable. So a little extra information might not be a bad thing. She'd offer a hand in greeting, holding onto her cane with the other.

This girl was new in town? No wonder, anyone with a half of brain wouldn't be walking around at night if they lived here. It was actually quite suprising that anyone even lived here anyway with all the deaths and disapearences. Quite the town.
She was from Singapore? Why exactly did she wind up in little old Misery Valley if she was from the other side of the globe? Maybe he was trying to make this out to be more than it really was. Maybe it really was just a girl trying to make friends, although in this town, that's not very likely.
"Jason" he greeted, trying to be somewhat friendly. He paused for a moment, knowing he should really skip the small talk and cut to the chase. "What is it you're doing out here alone at night?" he questioned, looking her in the eyes. He tried to make it look creepy, but witht the bag of groceries in his hands he knew his attempts would be fruitless.

Brooklyn's brows furrowed, and she looked at him with a look of...What was it? Confusion? Mixed messages were coming from this guy, even if her understanding of his words were a little off. He seemed both trying to be helpful, and scare her off. It was strange to be sure.
[glow=pink,2,300] "Taking a walk. Can't meet people in room, right?" [/glow]
Her answer was blunt, yet truthful. She was out to find people or really, anything to do. It didn't matter that it was the dead of night. Where she came from, there were people out and about at all hours of the day.
And maybe, just maybe, Brooklyn was a little too trusting of those around her. Not always a bad trait, but definately not always good either.

Jason stared at the girl for a moment, then cocked his head to the side. "Sure you can...not always people you want to though" he replied to her in somewhat of a creepy tone. This girl didn't have a clue as to where she was at...that was obvious. Unless of course she was a great actor...which was a possibilty. Around here everybody was an actor when they needed to be. This town was not for the innocent.
"So how long have you been around here?" he added, shoving the bag under his other arm and sticking his hand out to her awaiting a handshake. The tone of his voice was now much more friendly and trusting than the other.

[glow=Pink,2,300]"Here? I be around here for...two day. I think? [/glow]
It hadn't been long in any case. She had to stop and think about it though. She really hadn't been counting. And to top it off, in english at that. And even though her hand had been out earlier, she shook his hand anyway. After all, she was not American. Maybe it was something they did? Who knows, right?
The creepy voice, Brooklyn had chosen not to answer, whereas the other was pleasantly different. Why? That question burned in her mind, but she did not ask it. He hadn't tried anything yet, so she wasn't scared of him yet. Besides, she could swing her cane pretty hard.
[glow=pink,2,300]"Do you live here? Could you...uhm..--"[/glow]
Brooklyn couldn't find the word, and it frustrated her a little bit. Help was the word, but what she'd think of ...well..
[glow=pink,2,300]"-- Hip? Harp? me? I don't know, way back. to the dorms?"[/glow]
