Soyoko opened the door to his penthouse suite and cut the lights on...
"Close the door behind you."
Soyoko really didn't expect Phoenix to come home with him but if this Slayer thing was as powerful and important as she made it sound then he would need all the help he could get. He directed her to a black leather couch. He went to the fridge and grabbed to bottled waters and came back into the main room. He took a seat in the chair across from her...
"The heat should kick on soon, so anything else you wanna know?"

Phoenix looked around Soyoko’s penthouse. She had to admit it was a lot larger than her apartment. When he said something about the door she did close it. She would have closed it anyway without him saying something. She was just like that. A flaw of hers some said. Sitting down on the leather couch she looked around. She got the feeling Soyoko wasn’t expecting her to go home with him. She didn’t expect it either. But when he told her about his sister she just felt like she had to help.
“Tell me about your sister…how old is she. What she looks like. Stuff like that.”

Soyoko took a drink of his water than he looked at her...
"My sisters name is Asuki and she's 14. I came home one night and my mother and brother were killed. My sister was nowhere to be found. My grandfather instructed me to come to Misery Valley in order to find out were my sister was taken."
Soyoko then took another sip of his water as he relinquished the information. He hoped this girls slayer powers would enable them to find his sister alot quicker than he was able to...

Phoenix thought for a moment after he told her about his sister. “14 years old. That’s a young age to go missing.” She spoke more to herself than to Soyoko. “What about your father? Where is he?” she was trying to get understanding of Soyoko’s family. She wouldn’t judge him. So she told him just that “I know you might think I might judge but honestly Soyoko. My mother killed herself, my father and brother died while moving and my watcher…the man who trains me tried to kill me. So whatever you tell me I wont judge you.’’
In all honesty she needed a better understanding of who might have taken her. Or why and if she could do that then maybe she could help. Then suddenly a question popped in her head “Is your sister like you Soyoko?”

Soyoko was slightly taken back by the things that phoenix has shared with him. She indeed was similar to him as far as their backgrounds were concerned and that made it alot easier for him to tell her his story...
"I believe my father is connected to her kidnapping somehow. Its the only logical explanation. He was the only one out of my immediate family besides my sister who was not killed."
Soyoko then got up and went to the glass doors that went to the balcony. As he stared out at Misery he thought about Asuki...
"And yes, Asuki took after me. I was the closest to her and shes depending on me to rescue her."

Phoenix nodded as she listened to him. “Whats your father’s name Soyoko?” she asked softly. She leaned back into the couch as she got upu and walked over to the glass doors. She watched him for a few moments as he spoke.
“And rescue her you shall Soyoko. I’ll help you I promise. I know we just met but if a little girl is in this…and a father is the reason for it…I’ll help. I’d help anyway but you just gave just reason to band on a few doors and make some people talk.”

Soyoko smirked slightly as he continued staring out the doors. He couldn't have ever imagined that she would be so ready to jump into this with him...
"His name is Omadika Sishimata."
Something in Soyoko's mind made him believe that hs father was responsible and he had to know for sure...

”Okay.” she said softly as she started to think. She knew they had to start somewhere. Even if it was small it would be a start. She just needed to figure out what that small start was. It was surprising her that he was so willing to let her help. Not a lot of people liked slayers. She watched him for a moment before standing up and slowly walking over to him to stand beside him. She looked out the window and then at him.
”We’ll find her and we’ll find out if your father was the reason behind it. I promise you we’ll find her alive and well.” She hoped that her words where some comfort to him.

Soyoko looked at her and stared into her eyes. Her face and eyes were piercing and very direct. He could tell she meant well eve though he knew that she had no idea how to help...
...Right.
Soyoko sat on the couch and turn on the television. He then laid back on the couch with his right foot over the arm. As he gazed at the screen all he could think about was his sister...
(Asuki)

Phoenix stayed by the window but watched him for a moment. She could tell he had some doubts about her promise. Sighing she ran a hand through her hair and leaned against the window for a moment as she thought about what to say or do. Suddenly she looked up. She knew exactly what to tell him. Though it was something she never shared with anyone she knew it would help his faith in her. She also hoped it would show him how she never gave up on anything. No matter what it was.
“Before I was a slayer I was a Army person. I went on a mission and got caught. For a long time they raped me, beat me, cut me, electrocuted me, treated me like a dog, made me lick there bare feet, and anything else they could think of. I think it was a few month I went through that shit. I have scars all over my body from them. Burn marks, cuts, and a few others are from other things. I can’t even stand too look at feet anymore.” She kept her eyes on him the whole time she spoke. It was like she needed him to believe in her. “I fought against them of course. I wasn’t the type to take things lying down. I’m still not. But every time I fought I lost. After a while I gave up. I gave up on the American government and my leader and every night I prayed the next day would be the day they killed me. Because in all honesty I figured they would know the American government was on their butts and they would stop doing what they were known for. But a few days later they added a new ‘toy’ to there collection. A little girl about 5 or 6. You see the mission I was to stop certain people. They had a thing for taking young girls between the ages of 4 and 19. They would sell them and everything else. My mission was to take them down. Anyway, they put her in my cell. What they had done to me they had done to her but worse. I didn’t even know if she was alive or not that night. Growing up with a little brother my sisterness kicked in. I started to take care of her as best I could.”
As she started to talk about the little girl her eyes got a distant look to them. It had been years since she had talked about what had happen. No one even knew about the little girl. It always hurt to much to talk about it but if this story didn’t get him to believe in her than she didn’t know what would.
“ At that point I realized I couldn’t give up. No matter what. My mission and the meaning behind it. After that little girl came into my life I fought harder. Every time she cried I was there to hold her, every time they tried to take her I fought them with everything I had and more. I promised her I would get her to her mother no matter what. Though I hadn’t the slightest idea how I intended to keep that promise. Even though they punished me every time I fought them off of her I didn’t give up. Then the day I got saved they beat her. They beat her so bad you couldn’t even recognize her face. She was hanging on to life by a thread and I was pissed. My men found me bashing their heads in. I had killed them. I’m not really sure why it happened that time and not any other time but it did. According to my men they had to pull me off and when they did I went to then little girls side and picked her up and walked her out of that hell. She died three days later in her mother’s arms.” Sighing she looked up at him “The point is my word is law. If I make you a promise I freaking keep it no matter what. If I die while saving your sister then I die. But your sister will be alive and well. That I can promise you.”
