Thorn shoved her hands deep into the pockets of her tattered jacket and let her gaze fall on the ruins in front of her. She’d taken no part in the destruction of the slayers HQ but she couldn’t say she was upset to see it go. She only hoped that the place had taken as many slayers and vampires with it as possible.
Though she didn’t spend a lot of time around others, apart from killing them, she had still got wind that the head slayer had been killed in the explosion. She allowed herself a slight smirk. Chaos was excellent, her sire had taught her long ago that it brought down even the mightiest of clans. With their leader gone the slayers would be in disarray and the vampires, hopefully, would have thrown caution to the wind. All this was perfect for her, it just made revenge that little bit easier.
The moon hung high over the wreckage, giving it a slight glow that was only aided by the snow that was falling. Christmas was just around the corner, this wouldn’t have meant much of anything to Thorn a few years ago but the holiday had been one of Sophia’s favourites and slowly had leaked into Thorn’s unbeating heart until she’d learned to appreciate it in some warped way. “Whoever said vampires couldn’t feel obviously never got bit,” she muttered to herself.

The building that Micky had so wanted to be a part of was mostly gone now. Today was the day that she had originally planned to meet the leader of it all, the infamous Buffy Summers, slayer of vampires. But now none of that could happen. The building was in ruins, most of it anyways. And Buffy Summers was dead, told to her by a crying Willow. Of course this would mean that Micky would be needed to step in more than ever now. She hated pressure.
She hadn't even been there for the battle, hadn't even known about it until it was over. And naturally she blamed herself for not taking part. She had been too self-concerned, preoccupied with her own revenge and with Willow. But since finding out what had happened, she wasn't preoccupied with anything anymore. She supposed she should check on Willow, talk to Zy even, but now wasn't the time for that.
It was a full moon out, so beautiful. She never had an appreciation for the stars or the moon, not noticing them really, but she took notice tonight. As Micky walked through the wreckage she payed attention to every aspect of her surroundings. She took count of the moon, the stars, the debris at her feet, and the wreck of the fallen council. Everything had crashed down in such a short period of time, it was hard to believe in. But in Micky's aware state, she soon realized that she wasn't alone. Someone else was there, perhaps a slayer, it seemed most likely. But chances couldn't be taken. Micky stepped behind a piller that somehow managed not to fall, and watched to see who the intruder was.

The advantage of being a vampire was knowing someone was there before you even saw them and Thorn could hear the heartbeat of someone quite close. She wasn’t sure exactly what it was but a slayer had a slightly different… feel, that was the only way she could think of putting it and she could tell that whoever was here was human. Vampires didn’t beat, demons usually smelt strong and slayers were just… different. Yes, it was defiantly a human.
Maybe Thorn could get through this without having to spill blood, it had been quite a while now since Sophia but Thorn still had a problem. Killing humans wasn’t the easiest of things right now. Vampires, easy, slayers, a little bit harder but doable. Humans however still caused a problem that Thorn couldn’t get passed.
She pulled her scarf up over her face so the human wouldn’t be able to tell she wasn’t breathing in the cold air and knelt down, scooping some of the fallen snow up into her hand. Pretending she had no idea someone else was here she rolled the snow around in her hand, patting it down into a ball.
((I was thinking of having them become friends and Micky doesn’t realise she’s a vampire until they end up in the same fight one night))

((sounds good to me))
Micky's life was based on assumptions that she hated making. But she knew that in those situations, like right now, she had to be cautious. Based on her experience involving vampires, one would have sensed her and tried to find her by now. Hunger on the mind, the driving force of a vampires actions with the exception of pain. In most cases however the two revolved around each other. So based on this person's actions, she didn't seem to be a vampire.
It was that assumption along with wishful thinking that determined Micky's final decision. She didn't want to fight, simply because the day had been stressful enough. She had hated seeing Willow cry, hated the fact that slayers had died and there was nothing she could have done about it (since she wasn't there). So, she wasn't really in the mood for fighting now.
Micky stepped forward from behind the pillar, and began to walk towards the girl from behind. "Do you know what happened here?" she asked, already knowing the answer. Nevertheless, the question was needed to determine whether or not this was a regular human being, or a slayer, or a hunter like herself (although there weren't many as far as she knew).

Thorn pretended to jump a little when Micky spoke, acting was a good skill to have when you were trying to hide who you are. Still with her back to the girl Thorn rose to her feet and answered, “A little, I heard there was a fight and the …” she paused, unsure of what to say to the girl. Did she know about vampires, slayers and everything else that came out at night or was she simply a normal human who had been drawn to the rubble by curiosity?
“what are you doing here?” she asked, voice slightly muffled by the scarf, not finishing her answer as she was unsure how to. Turning around finally she stared at the girl for a moment and took in her appearance. How exactly did she find out what this girl knew, it was possible that even as a human she had knowledge of what happened here, over a hell mouth.

The information that the girl gave away was worth nothing, both literally and figuratively. It was common place information, anyone could have heard of it by word of mouth. But the girl drifted off, although that could have meant alot of things. She could have not known anymore, or she could have and was just being careful about giving away too much information. Whatever it was, it wasn't enought to determine anything.
And then the subject was turned to Micky, which she figured would have happened sooner or later. "I guess I wanted to see it for myself," she responded as she turned back breifly to look at the mess. The truth was that she wasn't entirely suer what her motives were. Maybe it was because she was supposed to be here today, and was still fulfilling that appointment.

Thorn nodded slightly "Yeah, me too" she replied, following Micky’s gaze over the ruined building, she took a risk in order to find out what the girl knew, ”I only got into town a little while ago but I thought it best to come pay my respect to the slayer that made it all happen,” she explained, glad she didn’t show any of the telltale signs a human tended to when lying.
She crushed up the snowball that was still in her hand and let it fall back down to the earth before pretending her hands were cold, rubbing them together and pushing them back into her pockets. It was the little things that made it convincing, things most vampires would take for granted but Thorn had used these tricks many times before to play with a victim and knew how it was done.

Slayer, Micky had finally thought she figured it out. Only a slayer would know about Buffy, unless it was a human hunter or a witch, but it seemed most likely that this was a slayer. "I was supposed to meet her today," Micky told her, slight sadness in her features. "I guess that's never gonna happen though." This was a tragedy, it really was, more than anyone knew.

"Don't worry, you're not the only one who missed her," Thorn mumbled, trying hard not to say anything that would sound insensitive at the moment. "She sounded remarkable however" she added, letting her british accent become slightly thicker to try emphasise the fact she was new to the place. little things she reminded herself, sticking to what her sire had taught her.

Micky nodded in response, feeling that no words were needed right now. They had something in common there, neither of them had been able to meet Buffy. The council was falling apart both literally and figuratively, and hopefully there was someone there that could hold it all together. Micky would try to be that person if she could, but she barely knew anyone at the Council in the first place.
After a moment of silence, Micky felt the need to break it. "What's your name?" she asked. Further conversation with the girl seemed to require a name, that way there would be a sense of familiarity almost.
