An almost sympathetic smile came across her face upon hearing Finn’s last statement. She clearly wasn’t comfortable with what he had said, whether it’s because it was him a stranger, or just men or even people in general wasn’t really known. Lila quickly looked to change the subject by talking about his Book of bedtime stories – “I wouldn’t know I’ve never really bought into fairytales and fantasies” she replied.
“It would be like me saying Magic exists” she exclaimed, before laughing.
She didn’t know if he could tell her laugh was forced or not, whatever he thought; she knew she wasn’t going to diverse any information about what she really knew about the existence of demons. In all honesty, Lila didn’t know THAT much, so playing the ignorant bystander wasn’t a hard task. She had heard stories from Lucy when they used to have sleep overs, but a lot of the time Lila thought it was just something to get a reaction from her.
Although somewhat aware of magic, Lila hadn’t partaken in much formal training of the craft. She mostly learnt the few spells she knew from books and Lucy, both of which weren’t available to her at the moment, in the case of books; she had a few but not nearly enough she would need to increase her skills. Floating a feather isn’t exactly “top end magic” anymore.
“Tell me Finn, do you believe in Magic?”

"Magic? Like pulling rabbits from hats or you mean like proper witches and stuff?"Finn leaned back in his seat and smiled, this was an odd conversation but he was enjoying it and it was obvious. He had noticed how quickly she had shifted the conversation back to the book and the magic she seemed to have brought up. "Myths and legends have to have started some place I guess. I mean somewhere someone started them for whatever reason and they changed over time into what they are now. Makes me wonder what the starting point was, you know?"

Lila was pleasantly surprised at his understanding and level headed answer; she tried not to smile though. “I know what you mean, there are roots to every tree, eh?” she continued before standing up from her chair. “Would you like a drink?” [/b]she asked, knowing she was going to order herself another from the counter. She wasn’t sure what to make of Finn; he seemed quite mysterious, whilst retaining an extremely charming nature. Whatever it was about him, she was quite happy to sit chatting to him and it seemed her magical worries had disappeared for the time being, which can mean nothing but good.[/center]

A drink? He looked up at her and shook his head "no thanks, I am good. Still to drink the one I have."Motioning to the cup of cooling coffee, he knew that it would just sit there and it was only there for the smell and warmth it gave off. While she was away he let his thoughts wander, she seemed nice enough and the conversation was building up nicely at least. He was used to slightly more indepth detail but he could survive with things as they where.Once she got back he waited till she was settled he smiled and continued the conversation. "Makes you wonder though, if the tree looks so horrific now. Did the beginings start worse or have we really blown it out of proportion to such an epic scale that what started as a horrible murder has turned into something like a vampire?"

“A lot of things make me wonder” she replied. She was slightly put off by the vampire remark made by Finn, not quite knowing what he meant with his statement; the fact it came out of almost no where after she got back with her Cappuccino didn’t help. She sat, wondering what Finns intentions were from this meeting, she also wondered if he had stumbled across to her table on purpose. “I’m just being stupid” she thought to herself, but the reassurance didn’t stop the thoughts from being there, dwelling in the back of her mind.
“Wondering is exactly what makes the world go round. Martin Luther King Jr. wondered if we could have a harmonic interracial society and now we do. Wondering is the foundation of our minds, I wonder about many things but I can digress that Vampires isn’t usually one of them, Finn.” She continued.
Lila liked to think she was playing it cool, “standing her intellectual ground” if you will, but in actual fact she was probably coming across as very forced and phased by the comments her new found companion was making.
“Considering they don’t exist… and all” she divulged.

"Doesn't stop people believing in them or blaming them for things. Same way people still commit race crimes no matter how accepting people believe society to be. I prefer to wonder about the non-human aspect of things. I guess because people seem so ready to tag the blame on the unknown and supernatural. How many people commit murder and say the devil made me do it, chances are thats all a load of bull but maybe one of those guys years ago was and it spiraled from there." Finn smiled and shrugged "I guess the idea that something other than normal is out there makes life more interesting. Rather read about myths and magic than hear about how we blow each other up or mug our own for money. Oddly the scary myths don't seem so nasty compared to us" He was babbling a little but he was slowly building up answers in the things she wasn't saying, the weird tone she used and the way she phrased things was a little odd but maybe that was just her.

“I can see, considering the state of today’s society how your last statement is justified.” She replied, taking a sip at her Cappuccino. She was wondering exactly what Finn was hinting at, always wondering. Lila began glancing around the room and set eyes on a clock, “Is that the time?” she said as her eyes widened from an almost shock.
She could see how it would come across like she was trying to make a quick exit, but that wasn’t it at all. Maybe it seemed as though he was intellectually too much for her, but it wasn’t the case. “I have to go” she said, rising up from her chair, leaving her half finished drink on the table, she leaned down and grabbed her bag, swinging it over her shoulder before looking on at Finn.
"It was nice to meet you, Finn.”

Had he scared her off? Finn couldn't be sure but he didn't really want the conversation to end just yet. She wasn't his type he knew that much but he hadn't had a good talk about stuff like this in ages. "I could walk you, the coffee is cold now anyway and I should get back to the motel to see if I need to move on from there or not."
He ran a hand through his hair and put his hat back on and adjusted it, standing up he lifted his book and looked at her with a smile "not wanting to be all crazy stalker though, just an offer. Its a weird town and all that jazz. Don't feel bad about saying no though."
With a shake he sorted his coat and waited for her answer.

A walk home? She pondered as to whether or not to accept the offer, before finally deciding that it seemed like a good idea, it was getting late and she wasn’t particularly comfortable walking home by herself, even with her so called “magical skills” – She nodded slightly and smiled, before turning and walking away towards the door, presuming that Finn would follow her.
She approached the door and pulled it open, the breeze gushed through and struck her with enthusiasm, after being in the mild coffee show, breeze seemed more a luxury than anything at this point in time.
“The quickest way home is through the park, is that going your way?” she asked.

"You know I have no idea, so lets say yes"Finn remarked as he adjusted the coat, it was a little colder than he remembered it being when he entered. "Not really sure where anything is round here, I only arrived the other day. So still finding my feet so to speak."
Stepping out into the street proper he looked up and down it before turning to her "I guess its ladies first. I'll follow your lead and do my best not to get lost."
