Lila began walking and smiled, of course she didn’t let Finn see that though. She thought the two should talk, as he had made some what of an effort to get to walk her home, but she didn’t really know what to say, what should be said on a walk home?
Lila entered the park, pushing through the creaking metal gate and holding her arm back to keep it open for Finn. “I hear the parks beautiful, especially in summer” she said as the two continued to walk.
“Did it get cold, or is that just me?” she continued.

Finn nodded a little "nah theres a wind carrying a bit of a chill. Have to say that I am more of a company makes the place rather than the other way round. Rather have good company than a pretty location" With a smile he stepped past her, he had no idea what this park was like or what to expect in it and that bothered him just a little. Sure he could handle himself it was more his companion that he was concerned about. "So what about you then. All I have is a name so far and that you like to wonder on the nature of the world. Do you go to college or something?Small talk was something Finn knew and he considered himself pretty good at. Years of finding people to feed on had made the skill one he had to rely on. "I mean have you lived here long, the usual stuff."

Thinking about the answer to Finn’s questions, Lila came to the realisation that she wasn’t actually doing anything THAT productive with her life, certainly not enough to warrant a response she could be proud of. Magic, coffee and reading were the foundations of her existence, with a frown on her face; she soon decided that telling him the truth would be the only right thing to do;
“Oh yeah, I go to College, I’m actually majoring in English” she replied.
Upon finishing her sentence, Lila saw a man approaching from the shadows. She ignored it and continued to walk forwards. She didn’t quite know what do.
“Finn...” she stated.

"English huh? I used to work as a University assistant but that was a while ago now"Finns words trailed off as his attention was drawn to the man that Lila had also spotted "Hmm?"He stepped a little closer to the girl, his usual protective instinct taking over. Finn made eye contact with the male briefly and that same chill wind russled past them carrying the mans scent, undead.
"Yeah its a cold wind alright"Finn said softly "not a night you want to be out walking about in, thats for sure."
Turning just in time to get a plank slapped across his head by a second vampire, he dropped to the ground and growled a little. The wind had hidden the seconds scent, smart of the pair to do that and that annoyed him even more.

Lila looked visibly disturbed by Finn being caught off guard by the second vampire and stepped back as the two began approaching her new found friend once again. Lila, knowing she had to do something held out a hand in front of her, pointing it towards Finn, “Protecatae” screamed James as a blue, semi-transparent shield surrounded him.
Lila looked as though she was in pain trying to hold the barrier; it was advanced, no where near her levels of practice. She had only seen it in a book and thought now would be as good a time as any to try it out, it obviously worked but was draining her quite rapidly and the vampires were noticing it too.
Both vampires were kitted out in leather and denim, one of them had a mullet whilst the other had short and spiky hair. They slowly approached Lila as she collapses down to her knees, she pants heavily as the two creatures stand above the young girl.

Growling a sharp feral warning as he snapped back up and cracked his neck"That hurt you freak, I mean punk died a long tie ago. Move with the times"Finn grinned as his fangs dropped into place, no game face like other vamps but a noticable differance.
Looking at Lila he smiled "Nice trick, magic not being real and all" Stepping towards the pair he twirled a stake in his right hand "well I am good to go with Sid and Nancy here"
The vampires looked at each other and then at the obviously not screaming and running pair with another snarl they rushed forward as the barrier dropped right into a shoulder barge from Finn sending one flying a good ten foot away as he spun and rammed his forearm into the second "Was having a nice night too, guess these things can't be helped."
Blocking as many blows from the spiky haired vampire as he could, he seemed to be fairly well trained in boxing as Finn tried to land some blows of his own.

Lila didn’t know what to do, she was shocked at Finns fangs; but not as shocked as she should have been. She was more concerned about him than anything. As he fought off against the spiky haired vampire, Lila turned and looked on at the one with the mullet. She knew she wouldn’t be able to get the barrier up again, not for a good while, but she did have some sort of idea of how to distract him and keep him from Finn.
“Mr. Bowie, could I get an autograph?” she asked, as the vampire ran towards her, she soon began to ran as the anachronism followed at a quickened pace.
Finn was still fighting off against the one with spiky hair and it looked as though he was gaining an advantage, as he did; Lila was still trying too and successfully out running the vampire.

Seemed his new found friend was not as good at the physical stuff as she was at the mystical. Dropping backwards he planted both feet into his spiky haired foe and rolled back and over in front of the mulleted vampire. "nice hair. Let me get this right. Its business up front and party in the back?"With a shake of his head and a laugh he uppercutted the undead as hard as he could "You know its really not nice to pick on young ladies and I know if you had asked she would have said no, which makes you in the wrong twice"
Moving with inhuman speed he was on top of the denim clad vampire and rammed the stake heartwise "Bingo."
For the second time that night he felt a solid blow to the back of his head, this time sending him flying face first into the nearest tree.

The second vampire had seemingly knocked Lila down the ground and made his way back over to Finn who had just dusted the first. Lila, disorientated saw Finn being knocked forward by the creature of the night and pulled up to her feet using a nearby metal fence. She out stretched her hand, “Protecatae” she screamed to no effect. “PROTECATAE” she enthused.
The semi-transparent barrier seemed to have some sort of effect, but it did not last more than a few seconds. It wasn’t even feasible as a distraction for the vampire attacking Finn. Knowing that mystical dabbling wouldn’t be considered helpful at this point, an exhausted Lila saw a nearby Stake, she made the correct presumption that Finn must have dropped it after being ambushed and sent flying into the tree. She reached for the weapon and took it in her hands, before approaching the vampire from behind in a very stealthy manor. She had never staked anything before, so her heart was beating fast; whether it be fear of being found before she had a chance to dust it, or just the fear of hearing the sharp object penetrating skin, whatever it was she would have to get over it fast.
As Lila approached, the vampire was standing over Finn and taunting him with words. Finn was breathing heavy, but looked strong as he always had; he wasn’t afraid, nor was he finished. Lila, stake in hand came behind the vampire and with a swing of her arm, went to thrust the stake into his back. Alas, she had screamed, hyping herself up for the kill, allowing the vampire to become aware of her presence and turn, grabbing her arm causing her to drop the Stake down to the ground.
“Don’t be stupid girl” sounded the fiend.
Lila was breathing rapidly as the vampire placed his hand around her thin neck; she looked into the eyes of the demon and saw fear itself.

Finn wasn't sure what had happened, the blow to his head was harder than he was expecting, standing shakily he put a hand to the back of his head and flinched. It was wet, not a good sign at all. His hat lying to the side he turned to see his opponent grabbing Lila and begin to strangle her.
In the blur that was his vision it became all messed up, flashbacks of fights he had had before. His eyes started to focus on the vampire and they changed to the same sickly yellow as a deep feral growl roared from his throat. Moving with blinding speed he had his hands wrapped around the undeads head and twisted hard and fast.
Then with the familar poof he sank to the ground with the dust and just sat there, for once the monumental loss hit him. He would never fight with his friends again, never get back anything that he had lost. Finn was alone here and back at square one again.
Slowly his breathing became normal until is was almost non-existant and he pulled himself over to his hat and then to his feet. Fangs and eyes back to normal he looked over at Lia and said nothing, he just watched her unsure what to say or do now.
